"I create a relaxing atmosphere so that students can express themselves freely without worrying about making mistakes

Q: How are your lessons?

In my lessons, I do not only follow the textbook but also try to help my students to express their thoughts and opinions in their own words, according to their levels.

I create a relaxing atmosphere so that students can express themselves freely without worrying about making mistakes. That way, they can work together with me to improve their Japanese by speaking as much as possible.

I am looking forward to working together!

Q: Why did you become a teacher?

When I was a university student, I lived in the Philippines for 3 months and in Australia for a year. At that time, I could speak very little English.

I remember crying with anxiety while packing, worrying about going abroad by myself. However, in the Philippines, my teachers at the language school completely blew away my anxiety. They were very kind, the classes were interesting, and I enjoyed being able to speak English with the friends that I made at the school. My life in Australia was also full of new experiences, such as working and interacting with people from many different countries. I was able to lead a fulfilling life thanks to the support of the people around me.

After that, I returned to Japan and worked in a job where I could be involved with people from other countries and support them in their daily lives in Japan. At my previous job, I met a Japanese language teacher who told me about her job and as I listened to her stories, I became very attracted to the job of a Japanese language teacher so I decided to become a Japanese language teacher.

Q: What do you like about teaching?

I like to see that the students become able to use the Japanese words and phrases they have learned in class. Also, it’s really great to see those students feel they became able to "understand" what they couldn’t before taking lessons with me.

I think it is wonderful to be able to help people directly and there is no other job where you can be involved with so many people from overseas while being in Japan.

Q: What are your hobbies?

I am an indoor person, so I like to watch movies and anime.

Recently, I enjoyed watching an anime that one of my students told me about and it was very interesting. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
