Takaki Sensei

Shinjuku Japanese Teacher

Branch: Ueno/Akihabara Language School
Lessons: Group and Private Lessons

"I feel happy when students can use phrases correctly and make sentences by themselves."

Why did you become a Japanese teacher?

I have worked as a system engineer, bell girl and yoga teacher but I felt that I wanted to do some other job using “language”. So I decided to learn how to teach Japanese and after I finished the TT course, I became a Japanese language teacher.

What do you like about teaching Japanese?

I feel happy when students can use phrases correctly and make sentences by themselves. Also, when I get new information from my students I never knew, that is really important to understand their nationality or their opinions.

How are your lessons?

My goal is to make enjoyable classes. However, not only just have fun but also to make them understand the vocabulary or sentences. In my class, I will do drill training a lot and after that, practice with your classmates the sentences. But also, if they have questions during the class, I will answer them as much as possible even if it is not in the textbook.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are eating delicious food, hanging out with friends, glamping, snowboarding, watching anime, traveling, and watching movies. I recently got addicted to SPY×FAMILY and Blue Rock (soccer anime). If you know it too, please let me know! Who is your favorite character?

I like to watch movies, take photos and listen to music. When I worked in the movie theater, I watched 23 movies in a month!

My dream is to have my own theater room 🙂
