Yes, we offer one free make up lesson monthly for our students 🙂
If you are taking 1 class a week, you will receive 1 make up class for the month. If you are taking three classes, you receive 3 classes.
We do not offer flex schedules for both group and private lessons. Lessons are fixed at the same day and time each week but we do offer one make up lesson a month.
If you take two lessons weekly, you receive 1 make up lesson a month for each lesson.
We want to create a consistent environment for our students and coming at the same day and time helps to build a strong routine.

You can take 1, 2, 3, or 4 lessons or more a week. The amount of lessons you take is your choice. You can also change the amount of lessons you take each month.

What do most schools provide?
Most Japanese schools only provide lessons and homework. They do not teach you how to study and most teachers do not understand how tough it is to learn Japanese.
For Japan Switch, the owner of the school is an American who has passed the highest level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and had learned Japanese from zero.
What does Japan Switch provide in class?
We do not focus on writing because that is something you can do on your own and there are many apps for that. We provide lessons in person to help you improve your speaking, so you can improve your communication from day one.
What does Japan Switch provide out of class?
Tyson will share many of the tips, tools, and frames of thinking that helped him to learn on his own to help you with your journey outside the classroom.
We will send you this information gradually week by week through an automated newsletter in small doses.
There is a maximum of six regular students per lesson. However, the maximum number per lesson are seven students.
Since we offer group lesson students 1 make up lesson monthly, the seventh student slot is left open for make up lesson students.
We do not directly assign homework for our classes. However, we have created a guide on how to learn Japanese outside of class using learning apps and other resources.
Here is an example of a guide we created for our students on how to learn Japanese vocabulary both inside and outside the classroom.
We conduct our classes primarily in Japanese, but use English in our basic course to facilitate comprehension.
Yes, they are Japanese native speakers.
Unfortunately, since we are not a full-time school, we are unable to sponsor student visas.
One complaint foreigners have about other schools is that they focus too much on writing. Since we do not sponsor student visas, we have more freedom with our curriculum and have developed one that helps foreigners improve their speaking from day and teaching conversation and natural spoken Japanese is something that full-time schools cannot provide.
