An AMA or "ask me anything" is a time where you can ask whatever question you have and someone who is knowledgeable on the topic answers the question.
Our AMA will focus on Japanese Language, Jobs in Japan, and Japanese People.
We do an AMA once every two to three months and post the answers on our student site. Here are some of the questions we answered.
- What textbooks should I use to pass the JLPT.
- What job boards are there for foreigners in Japan.

Evening or Weekend Lessons?
Our partner Coto Academy offers online lessons on evening and weekends as well.
Do you offer makeup lessons?
Yes, we offer one bonus free make up lesson monthly for our students 🙂
If you are taking 1 class a week, you will receive 1 make up class for the month. If you are taking three classes, you receive 3 classes.
Please note that you would need to be flexible in your schedule and that we cannot guarantee a make up lesson at the exact day and time you want it.
We unfortunately do NOT offer flex schedules for both group and private lessons at Japan Switch. Fortunately, this is why we are able to charge 30 - 50% less than our competitors 🙂
At Japan Switch, you would need to commit to a fixed schedule for the entire month, but we do offer make up lessons and please refer to FAQ > Schedules > Make Up Lessons.
If your schedule is busy and you really need flexibility, we highly recommend you attend our partner Japanese school Coto Language Academy who provides both flexible schedules and the best quality lessons in Tokyo.
We operate with a fixed time and teacher system, so you can develop a relationship with one teacher who you can grow with. You can change your time slot by letting us know by the 15th of the previous month. However, we cannot guarantee the same teacher.
Other online schools allow flexibility but even if you are able to find a teacher you like, you are not guaranteed to get them again.
